In January 2014 KACI owners PJ and Paula took a vacation to Australia to visit friends and family members as well as experience what the East Coast of Australia had to offer.
It was on this trip that the noticed the Lorna Jane brand of sportswear and just how popular it was with the women of Australia.
After they frequented a Lorna Jane store in Brisbane they were not only taken a back by the amazing range of funky activewear but also everything else that the brand is about from the staff in store, the high quality of the fabrics used, colours, the active living room and how it promoted well being amongst women.
This was a breath of fresh air and no store (that they could think of) back in Ireland provided such a retail experience.
After months of of planning and consultation, finally things were in place to open up a store in Cookstown Co. Tyrone.
The store would be called KACI (Keep Active, Change & Inspire). The name was inspired by their baby daughter Kaci-Lee who was only months old when the doors opened in October 2015.
With friends, family and customers in attendance, the store was officially opened in December 2015 by Tiffany Brien aka ‘Peanut Butter Girl’.
